Maryanne qualified at Onderstepoort South Africa in 1984. She started work in private practice doing small animal work and was then offered a position working for the government doing large and small animal work, running campaigns and training staff in the Ciskei (South Africa). At this time she took a 2 year Honours degree in Medicine, Clinical Pathology and Pharmacology.
Besides starting a private in South Africa Maryanne has also worked for the RSPCA in Pietermaritzburg South Africa before moving to the UK.
She has worked in Tiptree for about 20 years (including helping the Colchester RSPCA) and in 2015 moved to Colchester and now is director of Paws Colchester Veterinary Centre.
Maryanne has recently completed an Advanced Practitioner GP Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2014 and also has a special interest in Exotics especially tortoises.
She loves getting to know her clients and patients and is keen to make the patients feel relaxed in the practice. In her spare time Maryanne loves spending time with her family and her tortoise (her son is allergic to other animals!) and enjoys travelling when she can.
